Description
This classic whistle is known as the 'Thunderer'. Joseph Hudson started his company in Birmingham in 1883. He responded to the challenge from the London Metropolitan Police to invent a replacement for the cumbersome wooden rattles used by the Bobby on the beat. Hudson created a whistle which could be held in the mouth, leaving the hands free. Building on its success 40 new models were developed over the next 135 years. Today the whistles are used for many different purposes - sports, dog training, boy scouts, fire brigade to name but a few.
