Based on recipes she compiled whilst living in France, Italy, the Greek islands and Egypt, her book is credited with profoundly changing Britain's cooking and eating habits.

At the time of publication, many of the exotic ingredients listed were scarcely available in Britain, but thankfully we can now enjoy these recipes as intended!
