Made In England - An Evening with Brady

Labour and Wait are incredibly pleased to be able to host a celebration of the longstanding British manufacturer, Brady, in our new location in Covent Garden. The pop-up will not only celebrate the rich history of Brady, but it will also focus on the current makers at its factory in Streetly, Birmingham. The event will see a wider collection of Brady’s styles on offer in the space and will host an evening of demonstrations and talks from the Brady team.

Founded in Birmingham in 1887, Brady began making gun and fishing cases before developing the practical, hard-wearing bags for which it is now known. Brady’s history is rooted in British manufacturing, with generations of makers, specialist materials, and traditional construction methods contributing to the character of their products.

Today, Brady continues to manufacture in the UK, retaining many of the techniques and principles that have shaped the company throughout its history. Its bags are made to be used rather than simply admired, designed to age, wear in and become part of everyday life.

It is this combination of utility, longevity and British craftsmanship that makes Brady a natural fit for Labour and Wait.

The pop-up will let customers discover Brady’s collection in one place, along with the story behind the products and the manufacturing heritage that is at its heart.
